CHANTILLY, VA — March 25, 2018 – BDI, a premier furniture designer and manufacturer has partnered with designer Alyssa Coletti on several new collections, adding her to the company’s award-winning designer team. With more than 15 years of experience, Coletti brings a clean, contemporary aesthetic and unique skillset to BDI’s design offering.

Coletti is the owner of Nonfiction Creative, LLC, a furniture design studio that creates product designs for high-end residential and contract furniture manufacturers. Prior to starting her own company, she worked as a furniture and brand designer for both Williams Sonoma Home and Bernhardt Design, responsible for helping execute the design, development and marketing of their collections. Coletti also has extensive industrial design experience including her work with Lenovo, where she was responsible for designing a new laser mouse for the company.

Through her collaboration with BDI, Coletti has designed the new Radius Media Console and Radius Tables, which will begin shipping in March. The Radius collection embodies Coletti’s leaning toward strong architectural lines, yet with a softer application and aesthetic. Coletti also brings her experience designing consumer electronics together with her love for music and film to offer a unique perspective on how media technology should be displayed and housed in media furniture.

I have always followed BDI and love their aesthetic, and am so excited to now be working with their award-winning team

“Alyssa’s knowledge of industrial design is incredibly valuable to us, as she brings an understanding of how furniture design must accommodate today’s media technology while blending in a beautiful aesthetic,” said Lorri Kelley, President of BDI. “We also love bringing a feminine perspective to this industry, and are excited to bring her design vision to life.”

Coletti earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Industrial Design from Purdue University. She also attended the prestigious Denmark International School, where she completed the Scandinavian Furniture Design and Architecture Summer Study Abroad Program and met BDI’s award-winning Senior Designer, Matthew Weatherly. She is also sharing her knowledge with young minds, working as an Adjunct Instructor in the Industrial Design Department at Appalachian State University.

“Since Matthew and I were in the Denmark program together, I have always followed BDI and love their aesthetic, and am so excited to now be working with their award-winning team,” said Coletti. “As a female designer, I feel I can bring a unique perspective that both embraces strong, clean design, while offering a softer aesthetic that is applicable in any space. I look forward to many more collaborations with the BDI design team.”
