BDI NAMES MATT WEATHERLY ASSOCIATE DESIGN DIRECTOR

CHANTILLY, VA — June 7, 2018 — The contemporary furniture manufacturer announces that Matthew Weatherly has been named Associate Design Director for BDI. Formerly the company’s senior designer, in this new position Weatherly will continue his focus on product design and development, while expanding his role to include management of BDI’s internal design team and external team of independent designers.

Having joined BDI in 2004, Weatherly is the recipient of numerous awards for his designs, including the prestigious Pinnacle Award for Design Achievement in the categories of home entertainment and home office.

He is most recognized for his award-winning Corridor collection, along with Sequel Office, the collection that established BDI as a premiere authority on intelligent office design. Matthew’s designs consistently maintain the delicate balance between beauty and function.

Weatherly’s design direction is heavily influenced by Danish modern style, and inspired by soft minimalism. He studied Scandinavian design, architecture, and woodworking at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and holds a degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute.
