BDI MAKES WAVES WITH NEW TANAMI BAR

Latest Standing Bar Brings Sophisticated Design to Contemporary Spaces

CHANTILLY, VA — October 2020 — BDI, a premiere furniture designer and manufacturer, announces a new home bar design as part of its Tanami collection. Designed by Matthew Weatherly, the new Tanami Bar is now shipping nationwide.

Inspired by the Tanami desert sands, this distinctly designed bar—a companion design to the Tanami Console—features three-dimensional dune-like waves across the door fascia. The sculpted patterns contrast with the standing bar’s straight lines, creating beautiful depth and texture, and drawing focus for the room.

Available in Satin White or Fog Grey finish, Tanami’s satin-etched glass top surface offers a durable, easy-to-clean platform for preparing cocktails. The bar floats on its polished chrome frame with integrated levelers that help account for uneven surfaces, ensuring the doors stay open as desired.

“We wanted to create a statement piece that still served a valuable purpose for entertaining,” said Weatherly. “The Tanami Bar beautifully combines a sophisticated design with smart features and storage for a complete home bar solution.”

Tanami measures 43”H x 36”W x 18.5”D when closed, but opens fully on 180-degree hinges to reveal a complete bar setup. The bar’s interior spaces offer:

  • Horizontal storage for 12 wine bottles
  • Bottle storage in doors
  • Wooden stemware rack for securely hanging wine and cocktail glasses
  • Satin-etched glass top that is fingerprint and scratch-resistant
  • An adjustable shelf for glasses and other bar essentials
  • Lined utensil storage drawer
  • Precision hardware for smooth opening and closing

Tanami will be available at the Fall High Point Market in BDI’s Showroom - IHFC Design Center-Space 536 and will sell to consumers through finer home furnishings stores nationwide and internationally.
