New Functions Enhance the User Experience and Show BDI’s Furniture in Consumers’ Homes

CHANTILLY, VA — Nov. 3, 2021 — To further enhance the experience that customers and retailers have with the brand, BDI has added new 3D and augmented reality (AR) functionality to its website, bdiusa.com. Integrated into product pages throughout the site, these dynamic new capabilities provide visitors the opportunity to view a product at any angle or position while also enabling the ability to virtually view BDI designs within their homes and workspaces.

“It can be challenging for consumers to get a full view of how a product looks from all sides when seen on a website, and even harder to visualize how it may look in their homes,” said Dana Sciandra, Digital Marketing Director at BDI. “These new features add a whole new dimension to the user experience on our site. Not only can you view BDI’s designs better than ever before, you can literally see what they will look like in a space before purchasing, providing a new level of buyer confidence.”

The embedded 3D viewer allows visitors to rotate and move products around in their browser or mobile device so they can see it from all angles and in any of the available finishes. “Since our furniture often includes many hidden features that warrant exploration, customers and retailers have long asked for more detail and clarity in how products are presented,” said Sciandra. “With this new feature they can digitally ‘walk around’ the product and see it in a full 360° view.”

Mobile viewers are seamlessly transported to the augmented reality environment by tapping on the AR icon. With the touch of a finger, the phone’s camera app opens and the design becomes visible on screen, being placed in scale to its surroundings with the touch of a finger. From there, a few gestures move and rotate the piece within the space until it is viewed in perfect position. If visiting the site from a laptop or desktop computer, the user is presented with a QR code that they can scan with their phone to enter the AR feature.

The new 3D and AR functions are live now on www.bdiusa.com.
