BDI Introduces New Solid Walnut Tables and Lightweight Laptop Table

CHANTILLY, VA — Oct. 2018 – Reflecting sculptural influences and elements found in nature, BDI debuts two new table collections for the Fall High Point Market. Among the new introductions are the Orlo Tables and the Milo Laptop Table.

Designed by Matthew Weatherly, the Orlo Tables incorporate a beautifully rounded and contoured aesthetic that offer a mid-century modern appeal. Made from solid walnut, each piece of wood is hand-selected by craftsmen and distinctly carries its own unique natural grain and characteristics, resulting is a distinctive work of art each time.

“On a recent trip, I was inspired by the look and feel of stream-smoothed river stones, as well as the rock sculptures from Isamu Noguchi,” said Weatherly. “I wanted to bring that same earthy, organic feel to the Orlo collection, creating a solid, functional table design that could also be the centerpiece of the room.”

The Orlo table collection includes two designs: an ample-surfaced coffee table as well as a two-tiered end table. Both are available in BDI’s warm, rich Toasted Walnut finish.

For highly versatile use, BDI also introduces the new Milo Table. Designed by Louis A. Lara, Milo is a perfect table for laptop use or as a side table next to a sofa or chair. At less than 10 lbs., Milo is light enough to be moved to any room it is needed. Plus, it’s angled column leg and v-shaped base make it perfect for sliding under a chair or couch for stable close-up use.

Beyond its practical applications, Lara designed Milo with an architectural aesthetic that makes it an elegant addition to the room. “The profiles and angles of the table were inspired by futurist sculptures I love that convey movement and energy,” says Lara. “I wanted to bring that same energy into the Milo Table, while also making it very functional and suitable for everyday use.”

Milo’s hardwood veneer tabletop is available in either a Charcoal Stained Ash, Drift Oak, or Toasted Walnut finish, and the table rests on a powder-coated aluminum leg and powder-coated steel base.
